In the last week I’ve had to watch (against my will, mind you): Americas Next Top Model, Toddlers and Tiaras, Say Yes To The Dress, Keeping Up With the Kardashians (what a miserable, nasty, selfish, ugly family) and Tool Academy. Usually, because I’m lazy busy, Johnny has to go on a recovery mission for the remote to end my misery. But tonight Johnny was screwing off busy so the TV stayed on MTV, exposing me to perhaps the biggest train wreck of them all; Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew.

Has anyone else seen this shit? If not here’s the synopsis: A houseful of people trying to learn how to control their compulsions to masturbate 30 times a day and/or screw anything with slightly suitable parts through a recovery process which apparently includes crying a lot, drinking a lot, screaming “fuck you!” a whole lot and discussing, ad nauseum, how badly they want to, need to, absolutely must get laid. Meanwhile Dr. Drew grills them on which house mates they want to screw and the number of wet dreams they had the previous evening.

Now sex addiction is a weird enough affliction me to try and wrap my brain around, but the biggest problem I’m having with this show is the female sex addicts on the show are pretty much all hot. Surely that can’t really represent reality. It just makes me wonder, what exactly is the purpose of this show? To spread awareness about sex addiction and maybe help a few people along the way? Or to give millions of teenage boys raging boners through shameless exhibition of half-naked, hot women who can’t seem to get enough penis and will bang just about any boy who passes them a glance.

I gotta say…this is a new low, even for MTV.
